Science Falsely So Called

“Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.”  – Daniel the Prophet

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.”  – Paul the Evangelist

There is a lot of talk these days about “Science” and its compatibility with faith and belief in God.  Even Pope Francis has somewhat erroneously been accused of endorsing “evolution” and “the Big Bang.” It is unclear whether or not the Pope is endorsing the kind of “science” that most people are being conditioned to believe in though.

“Science” was the battle cry of Kaci Hickox in her demanding to be allowed to freely mingle with the general public while being a possible candidate for contracting Ebola.  And it is “Science” that is exalted as a god to worship by Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss as they circle the globe with their presentation entitled “The Unbelievers.”

The word science is only found in two examples in the Holy Bible.  Both are quoted above.  In the first example, (which by the way lists quite a few attributes that have little or nothing to do with “science”) the Prophet Daniel is describing himself and his fellow prisoners as they are being culled from the general population to be candidates for tutelage in the household of the King of Babylon.  In this instance the word comes from the Hebrew madda meaning “knowledge.”  The second instance is from the Greek gnosis which also means “knowledge.”

Real science discovers knowledge – and although there has been a general explosion of knowledge in the modern era the preponderance of our understanding is, by any scientific measure, simple ignorance – and it seems, ignorance as a sort of international pandemic.

The facts of real Science are undeniable – and that is, we really don’t know much.

Take electricity as an example.  It would seem that any persuasion – such as “Science” as it is presented to the general public – would be able to back up such encompassing claims of being the sole or predominant voice of true knowledge,  reality and truth.  Electricity might be a good place for them to start by simply explaining “what?” something as universal as electricity (and about a billion other things) –  is?

They may be able to tell you some of the things that electricity can do – but they don’t know what it “is” – really.  They don’t know.

Or worse yet, we are now constantly hearing the vociferous voice of “Science” crying for the right to “engineer their own evolution” – all the while knowing themselves that they have little or no idea, not only how life might have “evolved” – but worse than that – what life is in the first place.

“By beginning to read and write the life code, we are gradually becoming a different species; we are moving from Homo sapiens into Homo evolutis, a human being that deliberately engineers its own evolution and that of other species. And that is the ultimate tsunami.”   – MIT Researchers

“the life code?” Honestly?  They really don’t know.

“Science” has laid claim to the ownership of knowledge itself – and as the gods of knowledge they imagine themselves traveling amongst the stars – final products of their own genius.  Really?! These are the smartest guys in the room?

They might want to check again on how well it has been going so far.  It is not a far stretch to say that the sum product of our “evolution” and “coming of age to the point where we can now engineer our own evolution” and the accompanying “technologies” have brought us all to the brink of disaster.

Forget about making lists of all the things that “Science” has gotten wrong so far – you don’t have enough time or hard drive space.  And make no mistake – for once again the Ancient Texts speak down through the millennia –

“For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

– The Carpenter of Nazareth
